            After the Pyrocene
               installation

Last summer, the forest in my
grandmother's village in Portugal burned
down. I observed it from France through
calls, photos and news reports. As part
of my project and thesis, I'm exploring
the Pyrocene, an era of massive fires.
The "After the Pyrocene" installation
looks at the future impact of this era.
It uses digital tools to capture the
essence of the burnt forest, resulting
in surreal, unrecognizable elements and
textures that evoke environmental
distress. I combine virtual forms with
real textures to create a contrast
between the digital and the real and
provoke reflection on our evolving
relationship with nature.
